Every day, health care professionals face the risk of traumatic events — such as an unexpected death, a medical error, or an unplanned transfer to the ICU. We are so fortunate to be among the few hospitals that have a sophisticated peer support program that works to prevent our colleagues from becoming “second victims” experiencing self-doubt, burnout and other problems.
