Good Grief for School Professionals $100 – in person event. Houston, TX 9am-4pm CST (for school professionals) *6 CEUs included for social workers, licensed professional counselors, and licensed marriage and family therapists This full-day, in-person workshop is designed for school counselors and mental health professionals interested in coordinating and facilitating peer support groups for bereaved students on their campus. Attendees will learn about current grief theory, indicators of grief, children’s understanding of death throughout developmental stages, talking to children about grief and death, and student support plans. Hands-on opportunities to learn about grief-based activities will be provided, along with considerations and guidance on forming and facilitating grief support groups. Content is focused on elementary school, middle school, and high school students who have experienced the death of someone significant in their life. This workshop is intended for those who are trained and experienced in providing social/emotional support to students. Breakfast and lunch will be provided
